Since July, three papers, including one based on an undergraduate thesis involving insects, have been accepted and published.

This study investigated whether insecticidal properties could be imparted to molded materials derived from food waste by incorporating diatomaceous earth, concrete powder, fly ash, and other materials. Diatomaceous earth exhibited the highest insecticidal effect, while concrete powder also showed a certain degree of insecticidal activity as well as an improvement in mechanical strength.

This study investigated the CO₂ mineralization behavior of C–S–H under controlled ionic conditions and clarified the effects of Na⁺ on carbonation products and the reaction process. The results showed that Na⁺ retention was associated with the selective formation of calcite, while the formation of a carbonation product layer hindered CO₂ diffusion, causing the reaction to become increasingly diffusion-limited.

This study developed a cement-free construction material using underutilized fine and desert sand and waste wood, in which sand particles were bonded through alkaline activation. The material achieved sufficient mechanical performance and water resistance, and the results demonstrated its potential to become a carbon-negative construction material under certain conditions when the use of waste wood and carbon sequestration are taken into account.
